Anyone with only little or no knowledge on programming can learn game programing and start with developing a game. There are many people who don’t have any programming experience in their background but want to make their own game that is unique from the others available online and great in its own ways.  There are many and also some good books which teach game programming to new learners. To learn game programming, you have to concentrate more on programming and design aspects of game development. But if you can’t concentrate more on the artistic side then it’s not much of an issue. You have to choose the best route to learn how to make games. Now due to increase in access of internet you can learn game programming online also. And, to help you learn, there are many sources offering you great tips for learning online programming.

It’s very easy to learn game programming even and many people had tried it and succeeded in it. Few points you have to keep in mind while learning game programming:

• Choosing a Language – Is the first thing you will need to do while starting to learn game programing. There are many languages like Basic, Pascal, C, C++, Java etc. You can choose any of the language with which you are comfortable. I recommend you to use C and C++ though these are too advanced languages for beginners. Though Today C/C++ are the most widely used languages. But if you are not comfortable or find C/C++ languages difficult then there is no problem in learning a simpler language, like basic or Pascal.
• Picking the right Compiler – The programs which you write or source code is basically  stored as a text file or you can also use notepad to write a C/C++program. But if you want to convert that source code into an executable file you need something like compiler.
• Choosing a Target Platform – Before learning the language or getting into any programming including graphics, you perhaps have to use a non-GUI operating system, such as DOS or UNIX.

Along with keeping in mind all the above points, you should also get some good books on game programming. Moreover, you should also learn game programming online besides going with good book reading.
